Skegness Santa Fun Run: 11th December 2016

5 km. approx up and down Skegness Sea Front

The Rotary Club of Skegness held their annual Santa Fun Run on Sunday 11th December 2016.  The weather was ideal for the 342 runners who took part.

President Robin Wilkinson was joined by the Mayor, Cllr. Dick Edginton, The Jolly Fisherman, The Town Crier, Steve O’Dare, and Captain Hook with Peter Pan from the Pantomine at the Embassy Theatre.

Young and Old ran and walked along the Seafront as part of their 5k Run and spectators cheered them on throughout the route.   The Rotary Club were joined by Fresh Fitness Gym who held a warm up prior to the Event.   Ady Stennett on the microphone provided a brilliant commentary, and it was lovely to see Ryan Smith who assisted the Mayor and President Rob handing out the Medals.

This event, which was sponsored by Fresh Fitness Gym, raised over £3000 for local charities and the Rotary Club are committed to supporting the local Community through this event.    Thank you to everyone who took part and supported this event.  Everyone was a winner but the first one home was  Race No. 266 David Allworthy
