The Rotary Club of Skegness and the Skegness Silver Band together wish to raise funds for “Hope For Tomorrow” which is a dedicated  charity (registered No. 1094677) whose aim is to bring cancer care closer to patients. It works with the NHS to provide state of the art Mobile Chemotherapy Units to bring vital cancer treatment closer to patients, reducing travel, waiting times and the stresses of busy hospitals. The charity provides 11 of these mobile units throughout the country and one of these called “Elaine” treats patients in Lincolnshire including weekly chemotherapy  treatment in Skegness. The unit can treat up to four patients at a time. Whilst the driver and attendants are all volunteers and the nurses are paid by the NHS it still needs about £15,000 a year to meet the expense of fuel and maintaining the unit. On Saturday, 10th December between 12 noon and 2pm the Skegness Silver Band will play Christmas carols at the Skegness Christmas Market in Lumley Road, Skegness and  members of the Rotary Club of Skegness will be  making a collection.  All donations   will go to  Hope For Tomorrow for the mobile unit “Elaine”. We will be displaying information about the charity at this event.
