Lincolnshire and Nottingham Air Ambulance 2011

The members of the Rotary Club of Skegness once again welcomed Vivienne Chambers from the Lincolnshire and Nottingham Air Ambulance. President Margaret Taylor was able to present her with a cheque for £2000 - the takings from the Rotary Wishing Well. The Air Ambulance is a dedicated medical air service which first began operations in Lincolnshire in April 1994.

Based at RAF Waddington, south of Lincoln, and unaffected by road congestion, country roads, heavy vehicles or road works the Helicopter can reach any destination in Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire in 19 minutes.

In the financial year 2007/2008 we flew 1104 missions and on 6th March 2008 completed our 10,000th mission.

In England and Wales there are eighteen dedicated Air Ambulance operations flying a total of 29 helicopters and all are reliant upon charitable support. An Air Ambulance provides an important and sometimes vital additional patient care service for our most critically ill and injured patients
