The Rotary Club of Skegness have been pleased to support the work of Diabetes UK and have presented the local Skegness branch with a cheque for £1000.
Diabetes UK invested over £6 million in research in 2010 to improve the treatment of diabetes and search for a cure.
Their mission is to improve the lives of people with diabetes and to work towards a future without diabetes.
Members also wish Rotarian Lucy Hawley all the best when she runs in the Great North Run in September for Children's diabetes.
Lucy says" There is no reason why I still can't achieve my dreams but it does take a lot of patience to work out the right routine.
I decided very early on that diabetes was going to live with me, not me live with diabetes."
Anyone who wishes to sponsor Lucy can do so by contacting the Rotary Club of Skegness at The Royal Hotel, South Parade Skegness
