Vision Aid
Peter Johnson

VISION AID CELEBRATES ITS SILVER ANNIVERSARY.

Eyesight is a vital to everyone, Vision Aid now in its 25th year helps the poor throughout the world to see again by the distribution of spectacles which would otherwise be out of their reach. The project operates through the collection of recycled spectacles which are sorted and then calibrated, generally by prisoners on life sentence who have chosen to do something positive to help others.
The Rotary Club of Skegness has supported the project for many years and shows the initial check when broken, bifocal, or tinted glasses are excluded before being forwarded for final calibration by “lifers” prior to dispatch to the needy.

The glasses are collected by DX Co. The glasses are checked prior to being taking them to prisons where selected trained volunteer prisoners calibrate from whence they are distributed abroad to needy in third world countries.
