We were delighted to welcome our District Governor, Dawn Denton, as we began our new Rotary year — and she arrived with a wonderful reminder that sometimes your Rotary journey starts long before you realise it.
Dawn told us that 30 years ago, she volunteered at Silverstone during a Rotary event. What started as a volunteering opportunity became something much bigger, as she returned year after year and continued volunteering for an incredible 18 years.
Eventually, after all those years of helping Rotary from the sidelines, Dawn was invited along to a meeting at the Rotary Club of Towcester — and the rest, as they say, is history!
Dawn brought us greetings from Rotary International President Olayinka “Yinka” Babalola, who has begun his 2026–27 year with the message “Create Lasting Impact.”
As we looked ahead to our own new Rotary year, Dawn left us with a wonderfully simple challenge:
“Always do better than your best.”
A great message to start the year with — and one that fits rather nicely with what Rotary is all about. Our District Governor
